Francisco Solorzano – Adam

Francisco Solorzano was most recently seen in the feature film Between Something and Nothing which premiered in New York City's Newfest and will be seen in other festivals such as: the Philadelphia Int'l Film Festival; Mix Mexico 2008: Twelfth Sexual Diversity Film/ Video Festival, Mexico City; TLV Fest: Israel LGBT Film Festival Tel Aviv. On stage he appeared in the world premiere of Dog Day Afternoon, a new play based on the academy award winning film, off-broadway; Israel Horovitz's New Shorts with Lynn Cohen; Readings and workshops: Horovizt's Sins of the Mother at the Actor's Studio with Ethan Hawke; Little Shock with Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Peter Dinklage, Fisher Stevens, and Peter Boyle; and numerous NYC and regional theater credits including the 35th anniversary production of The Indian Wants the Bronx (NYC & Gloucester Stage Co.), Balm in Gilead (NYC) opposite Anna Chlumsky, and The Water Engine (Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Edinburgh Scotland.) Founding Member and current Producing Artistic Director of the Barefoot Theatre Company in New York City.

Patrizia Hernandez – Seta

Patrizia Hernandez is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts/Stella Adler Studios. Recent Credits include, Virgin (Full Moon Films, Exec Producer: Robin Wright Penn), Law and Order (NBC), Beirut Rocks (Boston Theater Marathon, Director: Israel Horovitz), Short Eyes (Experimental Theater Wing), Los Muertos (Stella Adler Studio), and Strama Baby (La Tea Theater). She was also recently interviewed for the news program Cara a Cara for a segment on up-and-coming Hispanic actresses in the US.

John Harlacher – Jesse

John Harlacher is an actor and filmmaker. NY Theatre credits include Rats, Next!, Complete Control, Hamlet (Barefoot Theatre Company), Danton’s Death (Prospect Theatre Company), The Little Prince (Theatron), Young Adolf Hitler (La Mama). He wrote and directed the feature film Urchin, which was released theatrically in 2007 and is distributed worldwide on DVD. Urchin was banned in Malaysia as “a threat to culture.” He directed the haunted house event Nightmare: Ghost Stories in Miami in October of 2008 and his second film, Kuru, starts shooting in the beginning of 2009.

Caitlin FitzGerald – Keith

Caitlin FitzGerald 's theater credits include Romeo and Juliet (Juliet) and Alls Well That Ends Well (Diana) both at Shakespeare Santa Cruz, The Optimist at the Abingdon Theater, Model at PS 122, Closer at the Harold Clurman Lab Theater, Much Ado About Nothing at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Stella Adler Studio. She can be seen in Jersey Christmas, National Lampoon's Dirty Movie, Taking Woodstock (directed by Ang Lee), and It's Complicated (with Meryl Streep; directed by Nancy Meyers).

Israel Horovitz – James

Israel Horovitz is best known as an internationally-acclaimed playwright, with more than 50 produced plays to his credit, some of them translated and performed in as many as 30 languages world-wide. Horovitz’s play Line has been running in NYC for 36 years and still counting. As an actor in film, Horovitz has been seen most recently as the lead in Joshua Marston’s film Trifecta, the film-adaptation of Bernard Malamud’s The First Seven Years, Raoul Peck’s Corps Plongée, Istvan Szabo’s Sunshine, Mark Rydell’s James Dean, Seth Szi Rosenfeld’s The Listeners (for HBO’s Subway Stories), Horovitz’s own award-winning film 3 Weeks After Paradise, and many others. On stage, Horovitz has performed in more than 30 plays, including Line, Fast Hands, Compromise, Speaking Well of the Dead, and Stations of the Cross.

Awards include the OBIE (twice), the Prix de Plaisir du Théâtre, The Prix Italia (for radio plays), The Sony Radio Academy Award (for Man In Snow), The European Academy Award and The Writers Guild of Canada Best Screenwriter Award (for Sunshine), The Christopher Award, the Drama Desk Award, an Award in Literature of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Elliot Norton Prize, a Lifetime Achievement Award from B’Nai Brith, the Literature Prize of Washington College, an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from Salem (Massachusetts) State College, Boston Public Library’s Literary Lights Award, the Walker Hancock Prize, and many others.

Mr. Horovitz is founder and Artistic Director of Gloucester Stage, and of the New York Playwrights Lab. He teaches a master class in screenwriting at Columbia University, and at La Fémis (Paris).

Mr. Horovitz frequently visits France, where he often directs French-language productions of his plays. He is the most-produced American playwright in French theatre history.

The Filmmakers

Mark von Sternberg – Writer & Director

Mark von Sternberg is a New York based playwright and screenwriter whose stage plays have received numerous productions across New York City. Such credits include Rats! At the Dumbo Art Festival (2000), Lost in Buenos Aires produced by Barefoot Theatre Company at the Producers’ Club (2002), and La Pump (a staged reading at 541). He is the writer of five screenplays (including Love Simple) which are currently in various stages of review at production houses on the West coast. He wrote and directed The Zen Cynic which premiered at Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts.

Dave Buchwald – Film Editor and Senior Supervising Producer

Dave Buchwald is Brooklyn based film editor. He last edited and supervised the post-production of Urchin (UrchinTheMovie.com), and is slated edit their next film Kuru (KuruMovie.com) in late 2010. This fall he is editing The Enlightenment Pill, a film by Abraham Heisler. He produced and authored the DVD for 2600 Film's documentary Freedom Downtime (2600.com), along with editing numerous short projects. He served as "hacking consultant" for the film Hackers (staring Angelina Jolie), using knowledge gained from his earlier life as a rogue computer expert. This past life included founding and running Crossbar Security, a groundbreaking computer security boutique firm. Dave has the utmost respect for dogs.

John Casey - Producer

John Casey is a producer and publicist for the film Love Simple (2009). In addition, John is also currently a producer on the film Asylum Seekers (2009) directed by Rania Ajami, which is currently distributed in six countries around the world. John is also a part-time actor, having performed in over a dozen plays with several theater companies in Manhattan, and as the lead actor in a short film that won best short awards at the Rome International Film Festival and Indie Fest in the U.S. John is also a public and media relations professional with over 20 years of experience. John is the founder of Magic Star Enterprises (MSE), a public relations, marketing and management company established in 2009 that handles an array of consumer, entertainment, technology, and cause marketing accounts. In addition, John is the founder and director of freshfluff: spread good stuff, a social media PR agency, and director of U.S. operations for Trufflenet, a digital intelligence and online strategy service based in the UK. Previously, John was a consultant and then Director of Public Relations for Toys "R" Us, Inc., Director of PR and Media Relations for Sears and Kmart (Sears Holdings Corporation), Director of Three Heads Public Relations, a mid-sized Manhattan PR firm, Business-to-Business Account Supervisor at Porter-Novelli and Ruder-Finn, two of Manhattan's largest PR firms. John began his career as a Press Secretary for six years with a Pennsylvania Congressman. 

David Kempski - Line Producer

David Kempski is a writer/director/producer based in New York City. He has produced a dozen short films, and worked on countless other projects in every capacity from Sound to Stunt Driver to Animal Wrangler. Selected production credits include The White Countess, Satan's Whip, and Ed's Trip. He is Co-Founder/President of 2121 Productions.

Miranda Sajdak – Assistant Director

Miranda Sajdak is a graduate of the Columbia University Film Studies program. During her time at Columbia, she participated in a number of internships and film productions, from Spike TV's On-Air Promos department to Law & Order: Criminal Intent Casting. In her junior year, Miranda was hired as a Production Assistant for Fuse TV, and continued to work with them in her senior year at Columbia. She was also able to assist on a number of graduate student thesis projects, acting as everything from Unit Production Manager to 2nd Assistant Director. After graduating from Columbia, Miranda was hired as Director's Assistant for the independent feature film Homeland. From then on, she has been working consistently in production, both in the AD Department and as a Production Assistant or Talent PA on a number of projects. Her most recent work includes PA on The Bourne Ultimatum and Talent PA for American Inventor 2.

Lance Kaplan – Director of Photography

Originally from San Francisco, Lance Kaplan (www.lancekaplan.com) graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He worked as a camera assistant in Los Angeles on commercials before moving to New York, where he attended film school at NYU, as well as the Film and Television Workshops in Maine. He has shot over two dozen shorts and music videos as well as two features (www.roeblingmovie.com).

Wade Vantrease – Production Sound & Post-Production Sound Design

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Wade Vantrease graduated from the University of Cincinnati 2005 with a degree in Electronic Media. He moved to Brooklyn in 2006 to work as a professional location and post-production sound technician. He has completed four feature films (Wakuza and the Mermaid, Motion Sickness (2009 release), My Life As Abe Lincoln for location sound and is currently in the process of completing two additional features in post. Wade also did the location and post-sound for Theo, a short that debuted at the ACE film festival in New York City.

Danny Mordujovich – Musical Composer

Danny Mordujovich has composed the scores to over thirty films, some of which have aired on the Bravo Network, Independent Film Channel, Sundance Channel, and Lifetime. A highlight of these was to compose music for Israel Horovitz's September 11th testimony, Three Weeks After Paradise. In addition, he enjoyed playing the piano along with jazz greats Bennie Maupin, Bob Hurst, and Ralph Penland for his jazz score to a documentary exploring David Milch's creative process on N.Y.P.D. Blue music in his studio, music Sandbox. Danny received his Bachelor's and Master's degree in Composition from Florida State University and has had his concert music performed by various ensembles including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Marietta Symphony Orchestra, and the Chipola Regional Symphony Orchestra. He recently composed music for Israel Horovitz's new Off Broadway play, The Secret of Mme. Bonnard's Bath.
